Dhara Devi Temple, Uttrakhand

Temples were made by humans but some temples were naturally built on their own. Each and every temple or place has its own history and this place also has some history. Dharidevi temple is located in Kalyasaur, Uttarakhand district on the banks of the river. Alaknanda comes in the between of Srinagar and Rudraprayag.

This is a Hindu temple and goddess kali resides there.

According to locals, during the flood, the statue of Dhari Devi was trapped inside the cave and then the villagers started to hear the voice of a powerful deity and this made villagers build a temple and place that statue. And this statue of Dhari Devi was naturally formed.

There are two parts of the goddess. The upper one resides in kalyasur and the lower one resides in Klamath (a village in Uttarakhand) It would be very interesting to know that this goddess changes her face. This statue can have a face of a girl to a woman. And that amazes the people and this is one of the reasons that people came to see this temple.

You can visit Dhari Devi almost anytime in summer but the best time is November and June.

Do you believe that only because of shifting the place of the statue, the deity can get angry and cause destruction.

In 2013, The Uttarakhand flood

That massive disaster, which took the lives of many people and made people suffer, destruction of the places. According to the people, this all was caused after the shifting of the Dhari Devi temple. The statue was shifted to a height at the shore of the Alaknanda river. And this made the deity angry and that cause the disaster.

Why was the statue shifted?

The statue was shifted as it was coming in the way of the Alaknanda hydropower project.

The statue was shifted from Mandakini river to Alaknanda river.

This statue of the  Goddess was naturally formed and if it came with a place then we should not disturb it. The only powerful spirit in the world is God and we should never deny them. Otherwise, it would be harmful to us.

Dhari Devi is also known as the protector of Char Dham.

Navratri is the festival that is celebrated in a good form.

How to reach there

By Road: You can reach here through the route of Srinagar or Rudraprayag. From Srinagar, it is 16 km away and from Rudraprayag it is 20 km away.

The Nearest railway station is Rishikesh railway station which is 120 km from Dhara Devi Temple.

The Nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun (The capital city of Uttrakhand) is about 135 km from Dhari Devi Temple.

We should worship each religion, every religion has its own importance.

 

Must visit this temple. The location is so energetic and lively that you can feel the positivity.
