Munnar is a hill station which is situated in The Idduki district of Kerala. It is a hill station in southern India. It is situated (5200ft) above sea level. Munnar is also called 'Kashmir of South India'. The term 'Munnar' means 'three rivers' and it has the confluence of Muthirapuzha, Nallathanni, and Kundaly rivers. The Munnar used to be the summer resort by Britishers at the time of colonial India. The Munnar is famous for its beautiful forests and some endangered species which attracts thousands of tourists every year. It is one of the famous tourist destinations in southern India due to its natural valleys, beautiful mountains, and exotic varieties of flora and fauna.
Discovery of Munnar
Munnar was not considered in India but John Daniel Munro was the person who fell in the beauty of Munnar and took the ownership.
Muthavans are the original tribe community that lives in Munnar. And other people who live there are immigrants from Kerala and Tamil Nadu who have a traditional dressing style of traditional plus western.
Culture- In Munnar, they follow traditional Muthuvans culture, British culture, and the culture of Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
Festival- The main festival of Munnar is Onam and they celebrate this festival with lots of joy and happiness. Nowadays, there is a new festival which is the Hot Air Balloon festival.

a)Signal Point View Point- beautiful place to take pictures and surrounded by forest.

a) Eravikulam National Park- it has a variety of animals and birds

b)Lakkan waterfalls- A proper picnic spot.
Famous street food which everyone must try:
1 Idiyappam with egg curry - It is a very yummy and delicious dish and we can find it anywhere in Munnar.
2 Appan with stew - It is rice pancake and some pieces of chicken and meat in creamy coconut gravy.
3 Puttu and Ladakh curry-Puttu is a steamed rice cake with coconut shaving served with curry containing black chickpeas in it.
And especially for my vegetarian friends :
4 Malabar Parotta- a pure veg dish with naan.
Hotels many hotels are starting from top range to bottom whichever suits you. You can stay in that.
