Shani Shingnapur Temple By: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Shani_Shignapur_Temple.jpg |
Indians are truly devoted to God. And our Gods blesses them (us) in their own unique ways like doing some miracles, securing us from little obstacles without us knowing, etc
Shani Shingnapur is located in the city of Ahmednagar (Maharashtra).
This place is known for no locks and even no doors
in their houses.
This place is devoted to Lord Shani who is also known
as the protagonist. Who has a fair sight for everyone? Lord Shani punished the
people who had done something wrong.
For 300years, people are not locking their
house, even not having doors.
What made them
do this?
This question may be raised in your mind. I know
many people know about this place but what you guys don't know is how this
started so for that let me answer this for you.
A shepherd described a black stone statue in a field
then he wondered what is this?
He stabbed the iron stick in the black stone then
that statue started to bleed. He got nervous and called a few villagers and
they all got shocked.
One day a shepherd dreamt and in his dream, he saw Shani dev who told him that this black stone is me. He asked Shanidev that may I
construct a temple for you. Shani denied it and told him that he wanted to stay
under the open sky and I will always be here for your help.

Due to the fair sight of Shanidev, there is no theft
who can
steal things from the village.
And if someone tries to do something wrong then
Shanidev immediately punishes them.
In 2010, a person tried to steal something then
Shanidev punished him immediately and that person lost his eyesight(according
to some data).
Even the banks, police station and hospital don't
have locks, they also have faith in Shanidev.
And the local shopkeepers tried to have their shops
near the temple as they felt secure near the statue.
As the power of mighty Shanidev, people started to
worship Shani Dev. And as we all know Shanidev's favorite day is Saturday.
So people came here from a very long distance only
to worship Shani Dev.
And even the people who have any problem with their birth chart(kundali) arrives here for good fortune.
Shani Dev statue is in a temple which has no roof
and if someone tries to make a roof, the person couldn't be successful in doing
it.
Is there any particular time to visit Shani Dev?
No. There
is no particular time to visit the place or temple but according to Hindu
mythology Saturday is the best day for Shanidev.
Shani Temple |
One day Shanidev asked Hanuman Ji to bring some oil
for him to cure his injuries then Hanumanji poured the oil all over him and the
oil made him calm.
That's why when people suffer from 'sade-sati' ( which means seven and half years of Badluck) they visit The Shani temple and pour oil on them to calm them down so that their work can again start with good progress.
